Testing this stove with the newer factory pot cross stand (higher above flame jets than the original version) I got 2 cups of room temperature water in the DZO 20 oz stainless cup/pot to a full boil in 4:55 and burnout in just under 10 mins with one once yellow HEET/methanol. I use denatured most of the time but the yellow heet works very well also. Used with either the trivet or DX stand each are stable and cook with ease. If you want to simmer you can set a pot directly on the burner and it blocks the top holes allowing for less BTUs . Oddly enough, put this on my gas stove [in the house] and it didn't heat nearly as quick [Likely due to the flame spread on the natural gas stove burner hitting the heat exchanger vs. bottom of the kettle directly]. Im at sea level though. I suggest a small wood burning stove such as the Firebox Nano gen 2 (which accommodates the Evernew burner) so that you'll have a stable stand for the Evernew and have the correct cook height, while also having the option of burning wood should you somehow run out of alcohol.
In order to get boil times close to approaching the aforementioned fuels, you're going to have to burn more/faster with an alcohol stove.
