We think it's OK since he isn't mouthy with his toys but we warn you to be careful since the balls are very small and they feel like they can potentially cause choking.
As always thanks for checking out and building my Hungry Hungry Hippos! I paid $30 for junk! Remember the game Hungry Hippos, we use to play it all the time when we were kids.
I wanted to like this toy. This children's game is as much of a toy as it is a game. I reasonably concluded, therefore, that I was buying the old version. HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS is a frantic marble munching game that kids love. The picture shows the old version of the game, and on the page there is (or was) a link that would take you to a DIFFERENT page for the newer version, at a completely different price. Bought this for my grandson.
The plastic feels cheap and the parts are flimsy.

I had no problems putting it together, playing with it and also putting it away, so it would fit back into the box.
Lots of exercise and lots of fun. I contacted the seller and was satisfied with how they handled my complaint but so far they have not changed their misleading picture of the game. AVOID THIS ONE! Game Description: Many ways to play Hungry Hippos but the basic idea is simple: teams will race to collect as many tennis balls as possible. Set all hippos equally spaced around playing surface. The "marbles" which are just plastic, do not fit in the hippo!!! It is nothing like it and so disappointing. The game only comes with less than 20 balls so it's over incredibly quickly, and the balls are lightweight, not like the heavier marbles, so they fly everywhere. I did not have any problems putting the hippos onto the game board and it fit snuggly and there were no loose areas when we began to play with the game.
The motorized game unit has the hippos opening and closing their mouths while players continue to fling the melons, hoping to land the most shots.
