Take a dip in the crystal-clear Chetco River at a spot called Elephant Rock, not far from Brookings Harbor on Oregon's South Coast. The person answering the phone knew about the cancellation but told me I would have to talk to the park's owner who was "out-of-town until next week". Gorgeous water, deep and pristine wilderness, and high quality whitewater combine to make this trip a classic. As the river leaves the wilderness, its character gradually changes. Elephant Rock is a great little pocket on the Chetco River for those that enjoy cliff jumping, turquoise water, and river bars. I actually called the park six or seven times but was never able to speak to the owner. She loves finding the latest places to eat, drink and play around the state with her husband and two young boys. In 2002 the Biscuit Fire raged through much of the upper watershed, wreaking havoc on Details Rentals I think this is the nicest RV park in Brookings area and would recommend it to anyone.I didn't actually stay at the RV park.
