Mario Kart: Double Dash is the latest version of the game that started the "kart-racing" genre. Is this normal? A used copy of Double Dash (just the disc, no case or manual included) ran me $33 (after negotiating a little on eBay).

(Mario Kart 8 earned huge points in this department, too.) We rented it, fooled around with it, returned it...and never felt compelled to play it again. Or maybe it's just more fun to all be playing on the same screen, I don't know.Anyway, I still think the original is the best as far as pure game play goes, but for a few select reasons this one deserves its place near the top of the Kart series.Oh, and what's this about "online play"?
680. For starters, there is a time trial mode to let you compete against your own best times. But this is still a great game.Though I did enjoy this game, Mario Kart 64 ranks highest on nostalgia and quality of courses. Then Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart Double Dash!! The better question is why do people hate on MK Wii? Love the fact they brought back specific items for characters (and we can use them too! I like the dino track, shame it was never in any succeeding Kart game.Becuse it was on GameCube, therefore everyone likes to say it sucked.Best one in the series to me and my friends.

There's I'm sorry but i have to say, apart from the snes version which i didn;t have the experience of playing back in the day (mostly due to having a megadrive), Double Dash is certainly the top of the series along with perhaps the portables. But I can't make any sense of people hating on Double Dash while claiming MK64 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. A lot of the demo signs there were destroyed while some were taken home by e3 employees. Second is 'Shine Thief' which is essentially a game of keep away in which players attempt to hold onto a 'shine' from Mario Sunshine for as long as possible and lose the shine if another player manages to hit them with an item. The sixth-generation console is the successor to the Nintendo 64 and competed with Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation 2 and Microsoft's Xbox.Press J to jump to the feed. By FAR the best Mario Kart. And the Wii version seems just a bit more polished and a bit deeper to me, so I favor the Wii version. Please hold your angry comments until the end of the article and let me explain. Have to disagree strongly with the criticisms of the tracks, I think they're great. I enjoyed the character switching, especially for holding two items at once, and I liked the feel of the GC controller. There's little to choose between the other MKs, which are all pretty good.I originally bought this game within a week from it's US release. The only exceptions I can think of are Pikmin, F-Zero and Smash Melee.Mario Kart 64 is, was, and always will be, complete fucking shit. The worst? Even so, for some fans of the series this is a blessing in disguise as Mario Kart Wii does not allow you to play battle mode without a full room of players, whether they be online human players or local computer controlled players. Then Mario Kart got way better after each iteration IMO. I'm glad it got some respect.I loved this version of MK. Wavebird for size comparison. Yes, some of the maps sucked, but it was still a fun game.Incredible game. I like the dino track, shame it was never in any succeeding Kart game. I can see the retro appeal of the earlier versions, but gameplay wise, DD had the most refined powerslide system so far and simply brilliant course designs. The DS version is very good for this reason too, but the Wii version was truly terrible. with all the control schemes of Mario Kart Wii, the addition of stunts, maybe some new cups and of course Wi-Fi multiplayer. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts It's almost clichéd to say this but during my days in college that was probably the most played game in the "game room" area. They rubberbanding and Blue Shell crap that ruins every Mario Kart bothered me, but I thought it was solid other than that.

if Switch ever gets a new Mario Kart game, it should be made in the style of Double Dash One of the biggest selling points of the switch is that you can take it to go, pop out the joycons, hand one to a friend, and play something co-op on the spot.
